The public will receive an introduction of the new chair, new board members and new executive director of the DeKalb County Department of Voter Registration & Elections
DECATUR, Ga. – On Tuesday, DeKalb County Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson announced a joint town hall, in partnership with Commissioner Robert Patrick. All DeKalb County citizens who wish to meet the new officials in the DeKalb County Department of Voter Registration and Elections are encouraged to attend the virtual meeting.
The virtual town hall meeting will take place on Thursday, Feb. 3, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The virtual meeting will be livestreamed on Commissioner Davis Johnson’s and Commissioner Patrick’s Facebook pages, along with live coverage from DCTV.
“I am proud to cohost this town hall meeting with my colleague, Commissioner Patrick as we present our DeKalb All-Star Lineup in the DeKalb County Department of Voter Registration & Elections,” Commissioner Davis Johnson said.
The public will have a chance to formally meet DeKalb County Voter and Registration Board Chair Dele Lowman Smith, Vice Chair Nancy Jester, Board Member Karli Swift and Executive Director Keisha Smith, as well as receive an update on pending federal legislation on voting rights from Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04).
“Voting rights is a very important issue that DeKalb County residents need to be aware of. I am very happy to partner with my colleague Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson on this important and timely topic,” said Commissioner Patrick.
