Decatur, GA – On Thursday, March 31st, the Presiding Officer of the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners Robert Patrick will host a community meeting at Pleasantdale Elementary.
Commissioner Patrick is holding the meeting to seek input from those who live in the area and will ultimately be the immediate benefactors of the park’s makeover. Joining Commissioner Patrick for the public event will be key officials from DeKalb County Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Affairs, DeKalb School District, project managers from Pond Engineering, and other DeKalb County officials.
As the District 1 County representative, Commissioner Robert Patrick believes good neighborhoods are predicated on well-maintained infrastructures, parks, trails, and proper planning for future growth.
“Part of that growth means having modern parks and green spaces where families can gather and engage in recreational activities,” stated Patrick. “Parks are the nucleus of sustainable neighborhoods and I want to do my part to foster that growth, one park at a time.”
Located on Pleasantdale Road. in unincorporated DeKalb County about half a mile from Interstate 285, the 14-acre multiuse park offers multiple sod fields to accommodate, baseball, softball, and football. Additionally, the park has a playground, picnic area, and trails.
The community meeting will be held at Pleasantdale Elementary School, 3680 Pleasantdale Rd at 6:00 pm in the school’s cafeteria.
