Economic Development
The economic well-being of residents, employees, visitors, and business operators are the cornerstones of a thriving county. As a result, a priority for me is to ensure that smart and mutually beneficial economic development occurs in District 1.
Economic Development in DeKalb
Over the past several years, economic development activity has increased in District 1. The new Assembly Studios with NBCUniversal taking over operations will transform part of the area as an entertainment hub. PDK Airport is in the process of a master plan that will prepare the 2nd busiest airport in Georgia for the future. And to increase connectivity throughout DeKalb, various trail projects are currently underway. However, we have more work to do.
The pandemic has had a lingering impact on the way in which we live, work, and play. From inflation to companies permanently moving to some form of a work-from-home model, not only creates challenges, but also, new opportunities. DeKalb County is poised to be positioned as a 'county of choice' and as your elected official, I will work to improve the quality of life for our residents and better climate for our businesses to thrive.
